The company Sara Lee/DE has sold and blended Tea since its beginning in 1753. The focus has always been on high-quality teas and this commitment to quality remains an important feature of Pickwick today. In 1937 the name Pickwick was introduced to underline the ‘English’ character of Douwe Egberts’ fine tea blends. The name was inspired by the name of the novel written by Charles Dickens. In the 1970’s Pickwick introduced the world’s first fruit flavoured black tea in a tea bag. Though other companies copied the concept, none were as successful with it and fruit teas contributed to make Pickwick an international brand.
The current Pickwick range represents a wide variety of black teas, fruit teas, green teas and herbal teas.
